TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Application Process

A. For Singaporeans

1. Applicants have to fill the Course Application Form indicating, among other information, their personal particulars, qualifications, work experiences and the name of the course.

2. The completed forms, together with the application fee and supporting documents, are to be forwarded to Hemsdale Management School or Hemsdale Associates at 100 Beach Road, #02-19 Shaw Tower, Singapore 189702.

3. The School will process the course application together with the Universities, if applicable.

4. If the application is successful, a Letter of Offer will be sent to the applicant. A Letter of Regret will be sent if the application is unsuccessful.

5. On receipt of the offer, the applicant will have to sign the Letter of Offer and return the signed document together with the course fees to Hemsdale.

6. All course fees have to be paid at least 4 weeks before the commencement of the program.

B. For International Students

1. Applicants have to fill the Course Application Form (their personal particulars, qualifications, experiences and the name of the course), the Student’s Pass Application Form and the Student Escrow Confirmation.

2. The completed forms, together with the application fee and supporting documents, are to be forwarded to Hemsdale Management School or Hemsdale Associates at 100 Beach Road, #02-19 Shaw Tower, Singapore 189702.

3. The School will process the course application together with the Universities, if applicable.

4. If the application is successful, a Student Contract will be sent to the applicant. A Letter of Regret will be sent if the application is unsuccessful.

5. On receipt of the offer, the applicant will have to sign the Student Contract and return the signed documents together with the student’s pass processing and sponsorship fees to Hemsdale.

6. Hemsdale will submit the Student’s Pass Application Form and other related documents to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority for processing of student’s pass.

7. If the application for student’s pass is successful, the student will be informed and the In-Principle Approval letter will be forwarded to the International Students.

8. On receipt of the In-Principle Approval letter, the applicant will be advised to remit the course fee either directly to the Hemsdale’s Escrow Account at HSBC or to Hemsdale.

9. All course fees have to be paid at least 6 weeks before the commencement date of the program.

10. All students are advised to peruse the Hemsdale Student Handbook for the school rules and regulations.

Admission

Admission to all courses will be at the sole discretion of Hemsdale Management School, Hemsdale Associates and the respective educational institutions involved in the processing of the applications.

Confirmation of Admission

A Letter of Offer or a Student Contract will be sent to the successful applicants within 24 hours upon approval. If the application is rejected, a Letter of Regret will be sent to the unsuccessful applicant. Once the Student Contract is signed, International Students are not allowed to change their courses.

Course Fees

Course Fees for both part-time and full-time programs are indicated in the brochures and on the website. Cost of textbooks, examination fee, and application fee are not included in the Course Fees.

Course Withdrawal

Students who wish to withdraw from the course have to submit their requests in writing to the School. The School does not accept any request for withdrawal through telephone. For more information on course withdrawal, please read our Policy on Withdrawal and Transfer.

Payment Processing

Hemsdale accepts payments in Cash, Bank Draft, Telegraphic Transfer and Cheque (for Singaporean only).

Feedback

The School welcomes feedback from the students. Feedback can be given orally, by email or in writing to the General Manager, trainer or student counselor. If it is in writing, a Feedback Form is to be completed and forward by hand or by mail to Hemsdale. Feedback may be given on the Hemsdale website at here.

Handling of Student Grievances

Definition:

A grievance is defined as dissatisfaction over any condition of study or the School that may have adverse effects on the students.

General Provisions:

1. An aggrieved student must represent himself/herself at all stages of the grievance procedure.

2. Meetings held at each stage of the grievance procedure shall, wherever possible, take place during regular working hours. When circumstance requires meetings outside regular hours, the time and date shall be mutually agreed upon.

3. Failure of the school to reply to student’s grievance, within the time limits specified, grants the student the opportunity to take the grievance to the next step.

4. If student fails to appeal from one step to the next step within the time limits specified, the grievance shall be considered settled on the basis of the school’s last decision and the grievance will not be subject to further appeal or consideration.

Grievance Procedure:

Step 1:
Any student who believes that he or she has a grievance shall take up the matter orally with any school counselor within two (2) working days of its occurrence.

The aggrieved student will be given an opportunity for full discussion of the grievance and the details will be recorded in the Student Grievance Form. The school will respond to the student within 7 working days.

Step 2:
If the response in Step1 is unsatisfactory to the student and does not settle the issue, the aggrieved student may raise the issue with the school principal within 2 working days after the date at which the response in Step 1 was due. The school principal will provide opportunity for discussion and review, and shall respond within 7 working days after receipt of the grievance from the aggrieved student. The school principal will review the case carefully and take such actions as deemed necessary. The decision of the school principal is final and is subject to no further appeal.
